A Hilarious Glitch in Matrimonial Software

Modern technology is constantly evolving, but sometimes, the results can be unintentionally hilarious. My recent experience with a matrimonial website gave me a surprising and funny glimpse into a possible future. I'm not aware that the Indian Government has officially approved same-sex marriage, which makes my question unavoidable: Is the Kannada Matrimony portal secretly promoting gay marriages? I’m not sure, but the evidence suggests it might be! I’ve included some screenshots below that validate my suspicions.

I had posted the profile of a close male relative on the Kannada Matrimony portal. Since then, I’ve been receiving emails from the site periodically. I typically log in once a month or so to conduct searches, and I rarely open the emails since the gist is usually visible in the subject line.

To my surprise, today I received an email stating that "Mr. N. Ravi, Ashok, and 135 others are interested in the profile." Isn't that curious? Anyway, please don't be alarmed. This is most likely just a software glitch, and all that's needed is a quick patch to fix it. I suppose the developers need to work on their gender filters before they inadvertently become activists for marriage equality. For now, I'll assume the computer simply got confused and provided me with a good laugh.

A Note on Societal Concerns

It's unfortunate that the Supreme Court's discussion on same-sex marriage in India caused significant concern and anxiety among the public. In my view, the Chief Justice of India (CJI) was not personally opposed to same-sex marriage. However, I believe the court ultimately chose not to legalise it due to the perceived public outcry or anger. In October 2023, the Supreme Court indeed ruled against legalising same-sex marriage (though it was a split 3:2 on some issues, the final judgment on legalisation was effectively against it), but it simultaneously affirmed the rights of LGBTQ+ citizens under the Constitution.

Questioning the Judiciary and Tradition

The sanctity of marriage is a concept deeply rooted in India's Sanatana tradition. Yet, I believe that the sanctity of the institution of marriage has already been lost in India. Furthermore, I hold the belief that every judgment is subject to influence, and I strongly suspect the involvement of the "Deep State" in these judicial matters. If this were not the case, how could an Bharatiya, who is a believer (in God/religion) and holds the high office of the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, express such what I perceive as absurd or nonsensical comments during the proceedings?

ಸಲಿಂಗ ವಿವಾಹ

ಶೈಕ್ಷಣಿಕ ಬೆಂಬಲಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಇರುವ ಲೋಕೋಪಕಾರಿ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಗಳು ಸಾಮಾಜಿಕ-ಆರ್ಥಿಕ ಚಲನಶೀಲತೆಗೆ ಅತ್ಯಗತ್ಯವಾಗಿವೆ. ಆದರೂ, ಈ ಅಮೂಲ್ಯ ಸಂಪನ್ಮೂಲಗಳನ್ನು ವಿತರಿಸಲು ಬಳಸುವ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಮಾನದಂಡಗಳು, ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಆಳವಾದ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪರಿಹರಿಸಲು ವಿಫಲವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ. ನಾನು ಭಾರತ ಸರ್ಕಾರವು ಸಮಲಿಂಗ ವಿವಾಹಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಮೋದಿಸಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿದಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ, ನಾನು ಕೇಳಲೇಬೇಕು: ಕನ್ನಡ ಮ್ಯಾಟ್ರಿಮೋನಿ ಪೋರ್ಟಲ್ ಸಮಲಿಂಗ ವಿವಾಹಗಳನ್ನು ಉತ್ತೇಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆಯೇ? ನನಗೆ ಖಚಿತವಿಲ್ಲ, ಆದರೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷ್ಯಾಧಾರಗಳು ಹಾಗೆ ಇರಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತವೆ! ನನ್ನ ಅನುಮಾನಗಳನ್ನು ದೃಢೀಕರಿಸುವ ಕೆಲವು ಸ್ಕ್ರೀನ್‌ಶಾಟ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕೆಳಗೆ ಸೇರಿಸಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಹತ್ತಿರದ ಪುರುಷ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಯೊಬ್ಬರ ಪ್ರೊಫೈಲ್ ಅನ್ನು ಕನ್ನಡ ಮ್ಯಾಟ್ರಿಮೋನಿ ಪೋರ್ಟಲ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ಪೋಸ್ಟ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೆ. ಅಂದಿನಿಂದ, ನಾನು ಆಗಾಗ್ಗೆ ಆ ವೆಬ್‌ಸೈಟ್‌ನಿಂದ ಇಮೇಲ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನಾನು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ತಿಂಗಳಿಗೊಮ್ಮೆ ವೆಬ್‌ಸೈಟ್‌ಗೆ ಲಾಗ್ ಇನ್ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೆಲವು ಹುಡುಕಾಟಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಮತ್ತು ವಿಷಯದ ಸಾಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾರಾಂಶವು ಗೋಚರಿಸುವುದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಇಮೇಲ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ತೆರೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

p.s.: ೩೦-ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್-೨೦೨೩--> ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಲಿಂಗ ವಿವಾಹಗಳ ಕುರಿತು ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್‌ನ ಚರ್ಚೆಯು ಕಳವಳಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾಯಿತು ಎಂಬುದು ದುರದೃಷ್ಟಕರ. ನನ್ನ ಅನಿಸಿಕೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಮುಖ್ಯ ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿಗಳು (CJI) ವಾಸ್ತವವಾಗಿ ಸಲಿಂಗ ವಿವಾಹಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ, ಅಂತಿಮವಾಗಿ ಸಾರ್ವಜನಿಕ ಆಕ್ರೋಶದಿಂದಾಗಿ, ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯವು ಸಲಿಂಗ ವಿವಾಹವನ್ನು ಕಾನೂನುಬದ್ಧಗೊಳಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಕ್ಟೋಬರ್ ೨೦೨೩ ರಲ್ಲಿ, ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಸರ್ವಾನುಮತದಿಂದ ಸಲಿಂಗ ವಿವಾಹವನ್ನು ಕಾನೂನುಬದ್ಧಗೊಳಿಸುವುದರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಮತ ಚಲಾಯಿಸಿತು, ಆದರೆ ಸಂವಿಧಾನದ ಅಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ LGBTQ+ ನಾಗರಿಕರ ಹಕ್ಕುಗಳನ್ನು ಪುನರುಚ್ಚರಿಸಿತು. ವಿವಾಹದ ಪಾವಿತ್ರ್ಯವು ಭಾರತದ ಸನಾತನ ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಆಳವಾಗಿ ಬೇರೂರಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಭಾರತದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿವಾಹದ ಪಾವಿತ್ರ್ಯವೇ ಕಳೆದುಹೋಗಿದೆ. ನಾವು ನೆನಪಿಡಬೇಕು, ಪ್ರತಿ ತೀರ್ಪನ್ನೂ ಖರೀದಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಡೀಪ್ ಸ್ಟೇಟ್ (Deep State) ನ ಒಳಗೊಳ್ಳುವಿಕೆ ಇದೆ ಎಂದು ನಾನು ಶಂಕಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ, ಒಬ್ಬ ದೇವರಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿರುವ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಮತ್ತು ಸುಪ್ರೀಂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್‌ನ ಮುಖ್ಯ ನ್ಯಾಯಮೂರ್ತಿಯು ಇಂತಹ ಅಸಂಬದ್ಧವಾದ ಕಾಮೆಂಟ್‌ಗಳನ್ನು ಹೇಗೆ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯ?
