Bamboo is often used to prepare incense sticks, and it's not recommended to burn bamboo sticks.

In Sanatan Dharma, bamboo is considered a sacred plant, and it's associated with Lord Ganesha and Lord Shiva. Burning bamboo sticks is not considered auspicious, as it's believed to release negative energies. 

In fact, many Hindu scriptures and traditions emphasise the importance of using natural and biodegradable materials for worship, and avoiding the burning of any materials that can cause pollution or harm to the environment.

The other forms of worship and offerings, such as using flowers, fruits, and other natural materials, are also considered more acceptable and auspicious.

Dhūpānantarām Dīpam Darshayāmi

So..

Agarbatti is a later invention. Better to avoid.

For Deepa: it is needless to say that we must use only ಬೆಣ್ಣೆ ಕಾಯಿಸಿದ ತುಪ್ಪದ ದೀಪ (ghee Deepa).

For Mangalaarati.. Same. 

Use a wick dipped in clarified ghee

(Benne kāyisida tuppadalli addida batti)

 ಬೆಣ್ಣೆ ಕಾಯಿಸಿದ ತುಪ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ದಿದ ಬತ್ತಿ.

Alternative is Sesame oil - ಎಳ್ಳೆಣ್ಣೆ

For ಶನಿ ದೇವರು, people normally use ಎಳ್ಳೆಣ್ಣೆ.

And.. Sesame oil ಎಳ್ಳೆಣ್ಣೆ is considered more shreshta ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ  for pooja of any God.

ಧೂಪವನ್ನು ಬಳಸಿ, ಅಗರಬತ್ತಿ (ಊದಿನಕಡ್ಡಿ)ಯನ್ನಲ್ಲ

ಬಿದಿರನ್ನು (Bamboo) ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಊದಿನಕಡ್ಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ತಯಾರಿಸಲು ಬಳಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ, ಮತ್ತು ಬಿದಿರಿನ ಕಡ್ಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಡುವುದು ಸೂಕ್ತವಲ್ಲ.

ಸನಾತನ ಧರ್ಮದಲ್ಲಿ, ಬಿದಿರನ್ನು ಪವಿತ್ರ ಸಸ್ಯವೆಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಮತ್ತು ಇದನ್ನು ಗಣೇಶ ಮತ್ತು ಶಿವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಬಿದಿರಿನ ಕಡ್ಡಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಡುವುದು ಶುಭಕರವೆಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಇದು ನಕಾರಾತ್ಮಕ ಶಕ್ತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ನಂಬಲಾಗಿದೆ.

ವಾಸ್ತವವಾಗಿ, ಅನೇಕ ಹಿಂದೂ ಗ್ರಂಥಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಪ್ರದಾಯಗಳು ಪೂಜೆಗಾಗಿ ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ಮತ್ತು ಜೈವಿಕ ವಿಘಟನೀಯ (biodegradable) ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸುವ ಮಹತ್ವವನ್ನು ಒತ್ತಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತವೆ. ಜೊತೆಗೆ, ಮಾಲಿನ್ಯ ಅಥವಾ ಪರಿಸರಕ್ಕೆ ಹಾನಿ ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವ ಯಾವುದೇ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಡುವುದನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸಲು ಸಲಹೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತವೆ.

ಹೂವುಗಳು, ಹಣ್ಣುಗಳು ಮತ್ತು ಇತರ ನೈಸರ್ಗಿಕ ವಸ್ತುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಳಸುವಂತಹ ಪೂಜೆ ಮತ್ತು ನೈವೇದ್ಯದ ಇತರ ರೂಪಗಳನ್ನು ಸಹ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಸ್ವೀಕಾರಾರ್ಹ ಮತ್ತು ಶುಭವೆಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ..

ಅಗರಬತ್ತಿ (ಊದಿನಕಡ್ಡಿ) ನಂತರದ ಆವಿಷ್ಕಾರ. ಅದನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸುವುದು ಉತ್ತಮ.

ದೀಪಕ್ಕೆ (Deepa) ಸಂಬಂಧಿಸಿದಂತೆ, ನಾವು ಕೇವಲ ಬೆಣ್ಣೆ ಕಾಯಿಸಿದ ತುಪ್ಪದ ದೀಪವನ್ನು (ghee Deepa) ಮಾತ್ರ ಬಳಸಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದನ್ನು ಹೇಳಬೇಕಾಗಿಲ್ಲ.

ಮಂಗಳಾರತಿಗೆ.. ಅದೇ ರೀತಿ ಬಳಸಿ: ಬೆಣ್ಣೆ ಕಾಯಿಸಿದ ತುಪ್ಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ದಿದ ಬತ್ತಿ 

ಪರ್ಯಾಯವಾಗಿ ಎಳ್ಳೆಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನು (Sesame oil) ಬಳಸಬಹುದು. ಶನಿ ದೇವರಿಗೆ (Shani Devaru) ಜನರು ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಎಳ್ಳೆಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನು ಬಳಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಮತ್ತು.. ಯಾವುದೇ ದೇವರ ಪೂಜೆಗೆ ಎಳ್ಳೆಣ್ಣೆ (Sesame oil) ಯನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠ (shreshta) ಎಂದು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.
